Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS Excellent-Rated University...!!

Dear Alumni of UTP,
I wish to inform you that the various universities or university colleges both public and private in Malaysia (58) were recently assessed and rated on their undergraduate teaching and learning.

A panel of 5 people spent 3 days at each university reviewing the report and seeking for evidences as well as interviewing many staff and students. The results have just been released and I am happy to report that UTP is one of the 18 universities rated 'excellent' or in Tier 5 category. In fact I was made to understand we are one of the top 10 among the 18.

We are certainly delighted on the outcome considering ours is a newly established set-up and with this achievement we will continue to strive for the research university status and towards world class.

I would also like to thank those who had participated in the assessment. I hope that all of you would continue to support the university in its efforts to aspire for greater success.

Best Regards,
Datuk Dr Zainal Abidin Hj. Kasim
Rector/CEO
Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS
