On the 10th December 2011, UTP Alumni Association, UTP Career Advisory & Alumni Unit, UTP Alumni Thailand Chapter (TAA) and UTP Thailand Student Association (TSA) had collaborated in a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Programme in Hat Yai, Thailand. The programme took place at the SOS Children Village, approximately 30KM from the border. The SOS Children Village is under its international umbrella organisation, SOS-Kinderdorf International – an independent, non-governmental international development organisation which has been working to meet the needs and protect the interests and rights of children since 1949. The village focuses on orphan, abandoned and needy children.

The rationale of forming UTP Alumni International Chapters is based on the increasing need to enhance bilateral cooperation and people-to-people links with UTP Alumni in other countries. Dated 2nd July 2011, the sixth UTP Alumni International Chapter has been successfully established in Indonesia. Tuan Haji Mohamed Noor Rosli Baharom, the UTP Deputy Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs & Alumni officiated the establishment in the presence of Mr Mohd Hilmi Hasan, President of UTP Alumni Association and Miss Hexi Bimba Andale, UTP Alumni of Indonesia Chapter President. This sixth UTP Alumni International Chapter is part of UTP Alumni’s continuous efforts to provide valuable contributions to UTP graduates, its alma mater, and the society through an alumni association.
