UTP Alumni had participated in the University’s noble project to save Mother Earth which was held in conjunction with the World Engineering, Science and Technology Congress (ESTCON2010). The University launched the special Carbon Offset Project (COP) called “Save The Earth” to do its part in addressing climate change by organising tree planting activities during the planning and execution stages of the congress.

The purpose of this project was to compensate for an emission made elsewhere, for example the total amount of paper used. The trees would be planted in the campus and its surrounding areas in Bandar Seri Iskandar, Perak. UTP Alumni sponsored a tree which was planted at ESTCON Park in the University campus. The planting activity was held on the 6th of June 2010.
